Hi
My name is Hazel and I turned 54 on August 17. I have been married to a fabulous guy for 10 years although, we've known each other for 23 years. My Honey Bunny is a truck driver so he's gone, a lot.
But no worries. I'm not lonely. My Mother in Law lives with us and we also have 3 fur babies in the house. Teekabear is my little Yorkie, Mya is my Boxer, Pitbull, Bulldog mix and then my Mother in Law has a Pomeranian named Roxie.
I have been overweight all my life. I think. A friend of mine sent me a picture of myself way back when I was 16 and I had a collarbone. Hmmm. Go figure. Anyway, I know I have been overweight most of my adult life.
So at 54 I have decided to lose some weight and get in shape. I thought I was ready to start this journey back in February but I guess really I wasn't because it was way to easy to come up with all kinds of excuses. My Mother in Law's health issues and her multiple trips to the hospital. Not to mention she's a bit fussy about what she likes to eat and her idea of a good lunch is McDonalds. My Husband is on the road a lot and doesn't get to eat regular meals and the meals he gets well, they aren't the best or healthiest. I've got to feed him right? Rich thick Macaroni and Cheese or maybe Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and thick, creamy, homemade gravy. UGH.
So, I am starting this weight loss journey not only to lose weight but to get and feel healthy.
Yes, I have some challenges and obstacles to overcome . I have Hypothyroidism and Fibromyalgia and just a few weeks ago my Dr referred me to a podiatrist suggesting that perhaps I have Planters Fasciitis. Um, I have yet to get to the Podiatrist. Somehow shots in the bottoms of my feet don't excite me too much. I'm also great at coming up with excuses. Ideally I would like to lose 65 - 73 pounds. I'm not expecting or even wanting to be super thin. I want to look healthy. I'm not expecting or wanting the 6 pack abs. I just want to be in shape so that I can walk up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing.
So, I am starting on this weight loss journey. I am determined! Please join me. Lets do this together. Lets share recipes, tips and ideas and have some fun while we get fit and in shape
That's all for today but, I'll leave you with a little reminder, DRINK YOUR WATER
